Dr Anne Alford BVSc(Hons)

From an early age, Annie was captivated by animal health and longevity, especially when it came to horses and dogs. Pursuing veterinary science was a natural progression, and she graduated from the University of Queensland in 2004 before beginning her career in mixed practice in Gympie. After a year, she returned to Brisbane to focus on equine practice, then moved back to Gympie in 2008 where she resumed mixed practice, married, and began raising her family.
As her children grew, Annie transitioned into small animal practice. Alongside her veterinary career, she developed a strong passion for multisport and triathlon, which inspired her to complete a Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science in 2022. In 2023, Annie joined the Bent Street Vet team and became a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist (CCRT), blending her love of holistic animal care with exercise science and rehabilitation. She takes great satisfaction in seeing the positive effects of manual therapies, modalities, and therapeutic exercise on her patients.
Outside the clinic, Annie helps run her family’s regenerative cattle farm in the Mary Valley, where she enjoys working livestock with her team of Kelpies and contributing to the ongoing regeneration of the region’s soils. Annie also enjoys spending time running and riding through the many local forestry trails, often accompanied by one or more kelpies.
